Cheating Death

"Get rid of it"

"You'll die otherwise"

"Both of you will die"

"Save your wife"

"Don't be so stubborn"

And so the voices went on.

But the couple stood firm. And they kept the pregnancy despite the rising chorus of experts telling them to do otherwise.

Then God used my Hubby and I to visit. At that time, we were unclear about what the condition was. But somehow, we felt led to pray for God to be merciful, to bring about the safe delivery of a healthy baby and that both mother and baby would be safe.

That was four years ago.

We are so glad that the little one is fine.
And here is the answer to prayer, courtesy of her parents. Isn't she gorgeous?

The Two B's

Yesterday my youngest was baptised. It was a delight to witness and it certainly struck a chord for me.

Today my oldest turns twenty. Well, technically speaking because he was born in England, he turns twenty tomorrow. But who's counting the hours !

We celebrated with dinner last night.Melted choc with vanilla ice cream topped with a cherry.
Called Fantasia de Maria - speciality of the chef's wife!

I miss my second one in that he missed these occasions.

And my foster son.

But it has been a good two days.

Praise God!

Distance No More

Even now as I write this post, I am multi-tasking. That's one thing that women are better doing than men!

I am also chatting with my Arrow in Singapore!

Such then, are the wonders of modern science.

Chatting so easily with him makes the distance seem so much shorter.

He'll be back for hols in just over a month's time. Looking forward to that!

Our Father

As part of our Intentional Discipleship Training, we have to memorise Scripture. The last one we had to do was what is commonly called the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9ff) Relatively easy if you know the tune to it.... like this little tyke. She's only two years old....

Good Brothers and Good Friends

From the time Arrow #2 was born they had been good friends. Like chalk and cheese, and yet good friends. They shared a room for most of their lives.
And now they head off to a new phase of their lives together too.

I'm glad they have each other. Most of all, I am glad they have a good relationship of their own with the Lord. May they acknowledge Him in all their ways - He shall direct their paths.

How Many Hours

It took almost 23 hours of labour to get Arrow #1 out.

It took 8 hours to get Arrow #2 delivered from the onset of labour.

It is going to be 48 hours before we know if Arrow #1 will be leaving for further studies soon.

Whatever it is, it will be 190 hours from the time of posting this when Arrow #2 will leave for further studies. Eight years he is expected to give - three to do his diploma and five more for his work....

As a parent, I have to learn to let go and trust them to God, especially if they have already a personal relationship with Him.

BIG Mmmmomma!

For some time now, I have toyed with the idea of having a site just for my family. Something more personal.

Hubby suggested something along the lines of food, family and fun-facts. Doesn't that was good?

After some twiddling around with names, we settled for BIG Mmmmomma...

Why that name?

Well, BIG Mmmmomma talks about food (mmmmm!), diets (hence the BIG) and the perils of being a parent. Unlike most blogs on parenting, my three children are not babies, toddlers or even preschoolers - more than half of my brood is about to leave home! And yes, I am big in size - for an Asian that is :)

So feel free to nip over there sometime.

Oh, and please sign up to be a follower, and make some nice comments won't you!
