Many years ago, Hubby and I were asked to draw up some discipling principles and thoughts. We came up with the concept of the threesome. It was Biblical, we felt. Jesus did it with Peter, James and John. They were His "inner circle". Jesus spent time with them more than the others.
The idea didn't take off where we were, for various reasons.
Some years ago that, we also found ourselves presenting this again. It would do the church good. We even went as far as to put names down.
And again, for various reasons, it didn't take off.
Change scenario.
A few hours ago, I found myself seated with two others doing different activities to simulate intentional discipleship. It was a privilege to learn together and I found myself in an almost poignant moment.
Five days before that, we had heard a sermon about disciple making. It made me turn to my Hubby and remind him of the past.
Could it be that at last we were finally going to see this come to pass?
We will find out in the next few weeks....

I think our principle is more 1 to 3
Yes it was, but in a sense this is so too - Holy Spirit is the Teacher/Leader here :) (No, I am not making it up. It's what was said!)
