The Daily Mail in England is well known for all its gossip. It also loves to sensationalize. Most of the news emanating from this tabloid is depressing but written in a "Did you hear about THIS?" way.
But in spite of all that, yes, I read it.
Why? Because I find it tries to get down to the grassroots of things in England, the place where I had spent a quarter of my life. So when you take away the superlatives and read things with a pinch of salt, you get the feel of the people there. Besides, I spent most of my time in England in the east end of London where sensationalism is norm!
Sometimes, though, I must admit, I long for a "counter". That's when I turn to the Guardian or similar.
Yesterday, however, I found a piece online which delighted me. It was a testimony from a woman who unashamedly proclaimed that she not only prayed, she prayed about choosing the right dress to wear. The angle from which she writes is refreshing. I don't necessarily agree with everything of course. But it makes worthwhile reading if you have a few minutes to spare!
