If you aim at nothing, you will hit it.
It might not be much of a statement to some of you, but it means a lot to me.Today that phrase came to mind again. It came when I was asked to do something. Something which I didn't think I ought to be doing. Something that smacked of going backwards rather than forwards.
I was reminded of a verse from Philippians 3:14 which says "14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." No, I did not want to move backwards.
Then I remembered my vision statement.

So I made a decision not to go backwards but forwards so that I would be fulfilling my vision statement.
I said "NO"
